Ready for day one. Built to perform beyond it.

SMG helps clients, FM/IFM providers and specialist service contractors prepare complex facilities and operational services for successful transition into live operations. From new-build handover to contract mobilisation and recovery, we take ownership of critical workstreams and drive them through to stable performance.

Are you ready?

New Builds · Service Mobilisations · Complex Transitions

What is Operational Readiness & Mobilisation?

Operational readiness is the disciplined process of ensuring the people, suppliers, assets, maintenance strategies, systems, data, procedures and governance needed to operate are in place before go-live. Mobilisation turns that readiness plan into day-one capability. Coordinating the transition, closing gaps and establishing the controls required for stable operations. SMG supports both new facilities moving from project delivery into operations, and existing facilities or service contracts undergoing procurement, transition, consolidation or change.

Two pathways. One outcome. Operations ready to perform.

Ensure your facility is prepared to operate, not just built. Where required, SMG can also support business continuity and emergency preparedness as part of the broader readiness programme.

New Builds & Major Projects

We bridge the gap between project delivery and live operations, bringing operational requirements into the project early and coordinating readiness through handover and go-live.
  • Design-for-operations
  • Commissioning and validation readiness coordination
  • Asset, maintenance, systems and data readiness
  • Handover, training, cutover and operational acceptance

Existing Operations & Service Contracts

We support organisations changing, procuring, mobilising or recovering operational service models across major sites and multi-site portfolios.
  • Bid and pre-mobilisation support
  • FM/IFM procurement and service transitions
  • Hard and soft services mobilisation
  • Supplier consolidation, stabilisation and optimisation

Construction to Operation Transition

We help organisations bridge the critical gap between project closeout and live operations. This includes asset tagging, documentation transfer, procedure development, maintenance planning, and training delivery. Our goal is to make your construction to operation transition efficient, traceable, and risk-managed.

National IFM Mobilisation – Asahi Beverages and Carlton & United Breweries

SMG supported Downer with the end-to-end mobilisation of a large-scale integrated facilities management contract across Asahi Beverages’ alcoholic beverages portfolio in Australia. The engagement extended over approximately 12 months, from tender submission and contract negotiation through to mobilisation, transition and post-implementation hypercare.

Challenge

The contract involved a large and geographically dispersed portfolio, ranging from metropolitan sites to remote regional facilities where suitable service providers and resources were more difficult to secure.

Approach

The mobilisation covered a complete range of hard, soft and industrial services. These included technical maintenance, industrial facility services, cleaning, grounds maintenance, pest control, workplace coffee services and other site-support functions.

Outcome

SMG provided the structure, coordination and specialist mobilisation capability required to manage the transition smoothly for both Downer and Asahi Beverages.
